We, as humans, are at a fault. We think the world owes us something. It’s our nature to want more, to feel loved, to think we deserve better than we already have. I battle these thoughts myself.

The World Race has allowed me to come in contact with several people who have dedicated their lives to pouring out rather than being poured into – a concept many of us are unfamiliar with. Lately, I’ve been more aware of who is always pouring out and who is always being poured into. I think the Lord intentionally brought this clarity, as He usually does.

I recently listened to a podcast from Elevation Church/Steven Furtick called “Needers and Feeders.” HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

It discussed how more often than not, Christians show up to the church specifically to be poured into. If the sermon, worship set, or aesthetic doesn’t live up to our expectations on any given day, we are unsatisfied and chalk the service as a loss. This is SO unfair and it’s not at all what God asks of us. Contrary to popular belief, Christianity isn’t all about getting what we want! Rather than bringing glory and honor to the Lord, we want him to bring glory and honor to us.

I’m also reading a book right now called “Enough” by Will Davis Jr. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

This book dives into the idea that Americans are constantly striving for more. Materialism and selfishness are skyrocketing in our culture. I’m not saying being a good steward of your financial resources is a bad thing. But, there is a difference between financial stewardship and stinginess. Often times, we walk the fine line.

God put it on my heart to share this with my readers right now as my squadmates approach some pressing fundraising deadlines. Are you holding on to something the Lord is asking you to release? Are you in the spirit of giving, but can’t seem to let go of the funds? Are you intentionally clutching a resource the Lord has asked you to share?

Tim Tebow asked, “Do you find yourself taking from others or investing in them?” It’s a question we all need to wrestle with from time to time.

This post is my encouragement to give freely and to truly redefine what “living with enough” means to you as a Christian.

“Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.  Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” 2 Corinthians 6-7

Here are blog sites for those on my squad who are still fundraising!
