Few weeks ago I went through one of the hardest weeks since I started this journey. I won’t go into details but one thing I want to talk about is the support I received. I cannot truly put into words the love I felt and the genuine care people showed. I’m pretty sure at some point I was crying not because of what was hard but because I was overwhelmed with support. This has been on my mind for a while now so I just need to do it. So that’s what I want this blog to be about, a thank you to the strangers that have become family. A blog that honors the people from the burg that have helped shape my life.
To the men from the circle, square and quads: only if you guys knew how much I’m still impacted by the way you supported me. The way you showed up and stepped up as men of God is something I won’t forget. Thanks for being a miracle in my walk and using the most ordinary things to show me how extraordinary our God is.
To the women from the shapes: only if you knew how much I miss walking down those dorms and seeing y’all do the crazy stuff y’all do. Thanks for challenging me more than you will ever know and for helping me grow closer to Jesus.
To the Shepherd’s office: thank you for being a place that loves deeply and cares more than seems possible. Thanks for your unconditional support with all the adventures. Thanks for giving me an opportunity that I will never forget.
To the coworkers that became sisters: you have been rock solid support since day one and know I wouldn’t be who I am without y’all. Thanks for never allowing me to settle but for always challenging me to be a woman of God. You guys have changed this heart in more ways than words can express.
To the friends that continue to always be there: real tb to cmt days and when it all started. It’s crazy to think its been almost 5 years. Simple thanks here, thanks for being my friends haha you guys know when to text and what to say. Thanks for being real friends!
To Frank, Jess and the kids: I hope you read this, because your investment in my life has changed so many others. Your amount of free food (specially chips and salsa), free time and insane support in literally everything changed the way I understood love. Thanks for installing in me a picture of what it means to welcome people into your life. Thanks for all you guys are to so many of us!
To Sam, Katherine, Katie, Paige and Gibbs: where to start, thanks for being my best ministry hahaha thanks for being one of the biggest reasons why my time at Liberty was worth every second.
To Kate and Eggert: I can confidently say I wouldn’t be where I am without you two. You guys have seen the best and the worse of me and never stopped being there. Thanks for everything, can’t wait for y’all to move to Mexico 😉
Much love,
Carla
