India and I have made some beautiful memories together. I have not been overseas until this month but I already know India is like no other place in the world. The sights, smells, colors, smiles, generosity, and culture is unique and has a beauty of its own.
While I have been in India I have…
Made many a funny face to elicit an “American smile”. I’ve also had many an awkward moment when my technique failed!

I have learned that the spin cycle spins only as fast as your arms can move in a bucket. I’ve also learned laundry time equals bonding time and Tide is universal!

When in India, I have been stopped by herds of goats, roaming cows, thousands of water buffalo and a shepherd herding ducks…….

While in India, I have had lots of fellowship! Especially in the villages. You may believe you are about to take a nap but then 9 lovely people who speak no English will come to your room and sit for hours smiling back a forth laughing and poking at the inflated bed you are trying to sleep on…This happened more than once.

While in India, I have paddled out with fishermen in crocodile infested water. The beauty was appreciated because the fishermen were kind enough to tell us about the many crocs after our boat ride!

But mostly, while in India, I have been overwhelmed by the beauty and generosity of its people. I have been welcomed into so many homes for “thumbs up” soda and so much delicious chia! I have been blessed to be welcomed into the lives of so many and see the beauty of the body of Christ at work in remote villages and far away tribes.
While in India I have seen Jesus. I have seen His hands, His feet, His sacrifice, and His immense love for the people here. I am thankful for the fun experiences I have had, but I am most grateful for each smiling or not smiling face, the sometimes awkward fellowship, and having the great honor of being apart of the amazing things God is doing in this Nation.
India, Thank you for the memories.
