Today I heard the song Cinderella by Steven Curtis Chapman; I have heard it before but today it hit a special place. It seems like when I am in trip preparation the simplest things will set me off to a puddle of tears but I love it.

I don’t know if you have ever heard the song but it goes through the stages of a daughters life and she is always wanting her dad to teach her to dance for each event…prom, wedding, etc.

What set me off  to the puddle ? The first thought was about the girls sold in to human trafficking..and what it would mean to have a special moment like prom or a wedding. I was thinking that since a lot of them are sold so young and once sold they have an average life span of 4 years …these kinda of moments are not a reality.

In the song it seems like it is Steven talking to his daughter but as I heard it today I thought of it as these girls and young women crying out to their daddy (Jesus) the way I heard it today. If they just got to know that there is a daddy who they could cry out to; one that would not sell them, hurt them or forsake them, and that would give his life and the world for her it may just change the hurt that burns in their souls. I pray that they see that Fathers Love shine through me on the journey.

Even though we are not in a situation like theirs Jesus still wants us to cry out to him so he can show us his un-yielding love, grace, compassion, and mercy.
