In planning for a Missions Trip of any kind there tend to be a lot of obstacles that can come your way. The obstacle may be not getting your apartment leased out, tottering with the India Consulate for a month. or the skeptics cleverly disguised as some family and friends.
In the face of all one can face and in the face of some of what I have faced so far the one thing that drives me most; the one that makes all of the logistics fade away is the hope, the the the dream of the one.
The one child that puts there head in my hands and rests there because they feel the Jesus inside of me and feels rest for the first time in their life.
The one little girl that does not even know how old she is because she has never had a birthday; who may have the opportunity to feel celebrated by the words Christ gives me to speak to her.
The one woman who I get to hold with Jesus’ s loving arms (I am his hands and feet); the one that has been sold as ugly because she is diseased or scared. The one for the first time in her life may know what it is like to see beauty to see light.
I may go on this trip and change thousands of lives and may never even know. I may be gone for five months, travel half way across the world, face the obstacles I face because Jesus loved the one.
I am ever reminded by the fact that Jesus left the other 99 sheep and went after the one.
In the case of Human Trafficking there is much that needs to change but what gives me being is that the change starts with one. Take the time today to sew into the life of one; see how it changes you and them.
