This morning I woke up feeling refreshed ! I made a few calls home and one to my lovely coach Katie. Katie told me that we changed out my plane ticket to avoid a 14 hour delay….praise God !

Katie and I talked a little about the delay and she suggested I enjoy my last day in America and have a little fun; I took her suggestion. I walked down for breakfast in a misty rain singing the songs that make me happy. On the way back I noticed a sign on the post; I love to read signs on posts and I don’t know why. The sign read ” No one should force you to work in prostitution you have rights in the United States regardless of your immigration status if you or someone you know is being forced to work please call for help”. Then they offered a number. By the way did I mention I was walking on a Seattle street; this is a US issue.

Later in the day I took a ride on the cities light rail and headed downtown to the World Famous Pikes place market. I really enjoyed the sights like a man dancing with a guitar in his mouth , playing another and whirrling around with two hula hoops and seeing a cheese making factory. For you coffee fans I also saw the original Starbucks.

My grandmother wanted mte to talk about the sights and the food and thought that may interest folks. Seattle is a melting pot of people and foods. Today I tried food like jelly made from Rose petals , soup with truffles (mushroom truffles not chocolate), and pesto with arrugala…all very yummy !

Waiting for my light rail I met a lately who looked like she was Asian and we got talking. She had never heard of Human Trafficking and could not imagine that that happens and even here in Seattle where she lives .I gave her the info from the poster I had seen earlier; the organization is called Seattle Against Slavery. She was grateful to know people were trying to help.

God turned a day of delay into a day of blessings and rest…now Cambodia here I come.

The current agenda is leave Seattle at 1AM the 17th so about 6 1/2 from now..yipee! I now skip LA all together and head straight for Tapei Tawain then on to Cambodia.

Love you all, Carla still reporting from the lobby of the Airport Red Roof Inn
