On New Years Eve we went around the table and talked about New Years Resolutions; one friend decided not to make anyand well me I knid of feel like since the trip is just 13 short days away and last so long it has something to do with my resolve for this year…..that was until I heard todays sermon.
Today the Pastor talked about a resolution we should all make to love Christ more and to love people more. I thought about it for a few minutes and decided I wanted to adopt it. Most would say that this is what I am exhibiting by going on this trip but their is always loving more,; it is always possible. I have seen it time and time again in my own life in the last few weeks. it is the kind of love that is so outside yourself so unlike yourself that it can’t even be explained.
After the sermon I asked God to show me how to love other more and he spoke to me. He reminded me through the book of Genesis that we are created in his image. Every man and woman is created in the image of Christ. As belevers we constantly strive to get back to the image of Christ as non-believers the tendancy is to become more like the image of the world. The traffickers, The Johns, The Pedifiles, The Parents who sell their children were all created in the same image that the belivers in Christ are; heavy to believe we are all created the same even though our choices define the path we wind up on.
I think the Mother Theresa book i read earlier this year sums it up best. Mother Theresa saw every person that came her way as a hurting dying Christ.
My resolution to love Christ more and to love every person that comes before me as a hurting dying Christ; knowing full well of the sacrifice of Christ.
