As children of God we know that we are beautiful with whatever flaws and imperfections we have. We know that our God cherishes us. We know that whatever we see in the mirror, whatever the world sees when they look at us, and whatever the world tells us we should be it does not matter to him.
A few weeks ago I shared with you about the so called “ugly women” of Thailand. These women that are scarred or diseased who have no one who cares about where they are or go once they are sold.
As I saw the scars on my elbow and my hip this week it hit me like a ton of bricks; if I was there and had been trafficked I would be considered an ugly women and it would be me nobody cared about.
How did you feel when you were 5 years old on the school yard and somebody called you ugly ? How did you feel when you got rejected for the junior high dance ? How would you feel if because of your blemishes, or because of your scars, or because of your sickness you were sold as ugly ?
Think if you yourself have scars or if you are fighting a disease; you too could be considered an “ugly woman” in Thailand. Every time you look at your scars or get weary from fighting a disease remember these woman! They need your prayers, they need the saviors love, they need to know they are not ugly!
Remember we are to be in the world but not of the world; let your eyes be heavenly.
