I am a part of a movement.
This movement is bigger than myself. It’s bigger than you. It’s about us.
In The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, Stephen Covey writes that our goal should not be independence, but inter-dependence. This is not the same as co-dependence. Co-dependence means that I cannot make a decision without the approval and confirmation of others. Interdependence means that because I value our relationship and believe that we is more important than me, I choose to make decisions with you and I choose to consider others when I act.
This idea is growing, whether we realize it or not. Social innovation is at an all-time high. New non-profits, humanitarian projects, and charitable organizations are popping up faster than ever. Despite the economic situation, giving has primarily remained consistent and has even increased in some demographics. Because we recognize that we have a responsibility. Because we see the need for “us.”
I am a part of a multi-generational generation that believes that the world is bigger than individuals – that believes in inter-dependence.
I recently heard this movement described as having a heart of “revival culture.”
What does that mean?
Revival culture is a people who care about their heart. Who care about integrity. Who care about life. Who care about the place they live. Who care about their calling. Who care about their impact. Who care about change. Who care about healing. Who care about their destiny. Who care about their legacy. Who care about their inheritance.
They fiercely guard where they go and what they do and who they are.
God wants to do something in you that surpasses understanding.
Be a life changer and a world changer.
This looks like leaving home and moving to an internally displaced people camp like they did.
It looks like going to Cambodia to start a home for trafficked and enslaved women like they did.
It looks like using your passion for cosmetics to save lives like she is.
It looks like taking spending 40 days in the wilderness to pursue discipleship like they are.
It looks like you. I looks like taking a step.
World changers are world changers because they decide to be world changers.
There is a calling on your lives and the calling is not to do but to abide. It’s not about chasing your own dream but living in his dream – abiding in God’s will and being obedient with what he tells you to do and moving when he tells you to move. And in doing that, he will open doors that no man can open, and bring about change that you never could have imagined.
I have friends who are a part of this. I am a part of this. You are a part of this.
Welcome to the movement.
