About a month ago I wrote a blog telling you about Adi, his wife Sanda, and their son David. I told you about how their roof was in need of replacement and without help, would not be fixed before the winter snow and cold set in. I told you about the ceiling in their bedroom collapsing because a late night rainstorm proved too much for the drywall exposed below the unfinished roof. And through it all I told you about the amazing perseverance and optimism Adi and his family showed in the midst of a difficult situation. Through your kindness, generosity, and prayers, (and the hard work of Adi and some of the other men of Viile Tecii) we were able to see the roof on Adi and Sanda’s house completed just days before we left Viile Tecii.
this became this

we replaced this with this.
All of the repairs couldn’t be completed before we left, however the roof is in place, the materials to fix the interior ceilings have been purchased, and the repairs are underway. Adi and his family will have a warm, safe roof this winter and for many years to come. But we have also given them more than a roof. We have given parents a household and a son shelter. We have seen their struggle and helped lift them out. Most of all, we have seen them as people, as brothers and sisters, not strangers. We have included them in our family. We have loved them. Thank you.
This is the life.
I also posted a couple blogs a few weeks ago about some support needs that some people on our squad had. That a handful of important pieces of our group – some members of our World Race family needed help staying on the field. Again, people responded immediately with overwhelming generosity and kindness. People needed help in big ways and we saw thousands of dollars come pouring in, in a matter of days. Most of these people are young men and women you will never meet in person, but their lives resound with truth and the impact they, the impact we are having on the world is undeniable. It absolutely would not be possible without all those at home who continue to support us in love, prayers, and finances.
Romans 12 talks about the body – how we all have a different part to play, and how each bone, muscle, and organ is essential to the body functioning healthily and effectively. We are a part of a body that is literally changing the world. Thank you for helping us live healthily and effectively. Thank you for helping us grow. Thank you for choosing to be a part of our body.
We have come such a long way – in so many ways (time, physical distance, emotional growth, relational intimacy, spiritual depth…) but we still have 33 days. Our journey isn’t over yet. We’ve still got ground to cover.
Our desire as a squad is to be fully funded by the time we hit US soil.
We have made it to 98%. Help us finish the last 2%. Help us all finish the Race.
Below are the squadmates that still need your support!
Most need less than $1000.
