Kingdom Dreams exists to help facilitate that transition – from a life of compromise to a life of abandoned pursuit of the calling God has placed on your life.”

We are mobilizers, connectors, facilitators, and coaches. We’re advocates for dreams and fans of dreaming. Honestly, we’ll do pretty darn close to whatever it takes to help a dreamer take a step toward achieving their dream.

So what does that look like?

Recently we had the opportunity to put on an event we call Project Searchlight. Basically, it’s a week-long workshop all about dreaming. Nearly 40 World Race alumni, most of whom had come off the field within the past 3-6 weeks, gathered here in Gainesville for six days of teaching, coaching, connecting, and decision making. We’d get up at 8am, eat breakfast, worship together, and then launch into a day full of speakers, exercises, group and 1-on-1 coaching sessions, and strategic connection making, before finishing up every night with prayer and worship sometime around 9pm. 13+ hour days, six days straight, all devoted to the discovery and building of dreams. They were long, hard, productive days.

And it was absolutely amazing.

I wish anyone who has ever doubted my generation could have been there to witness this week. We literally took this group of short-term missionaries fresh-off the field, sat them in a room, and began to unpack each of their unique passions, gifts, desires, and ideas. They shared their struggles, and fears, and insecurities. They encouraged and prayed for and spoke life over one another. A community championing opportunity and action and service and sacrifice emerged.
Do you know what kind of creative environment that is?!

It’s breathtaking.

To sit in a room surrounded by 20- and 30-somethings who dream of selling all their stuff and moving to India to take care of AIDS orphans, or to Thailand to journey deep into the depths of modern sex slavery and retrieve the lost and the broken, or to Ireland to reach a generation that has turned its back on a “church” that they believe is nothing more than a man behind a curtain.

Then there are others who dream of starting an online store that sells art, jewelry, and other products made by men and women in developing countries, while at the same time telling the story of who they are and the things they create, or using their gift of writing to be a voice for the millions of voiceless around the world, or opening up a home for teenage sex-trafficking victims…in the United States.

These are men and women who are deciding to make a difference. They are getting up, throwing away the “should-be’s” and “supposed-to’s” of the world, and they’re writing their own stories. They’re shaping the kingdom – giving it a voice and a face and a name and a breath – and they’re bringing it to earth.

And we get to come alongside each other and lend a hand – or a backpack, or a connection, or a meal, or a book, or a job, or a tent, or a car, or a few bucks, or an ear.

Because it’s not just some stuff someone else is doing. These are not dreams that exist in some alternate universe with different rules and different circumstances. Nor are they flippant reveries, or momentary whims. This is here. This is now. These are the things WE are doing. This is the movement WE are starting. These are the vocations WE value and the jobs WE deem necessary. It’s bigger than any one of us. But each one of us has a part to play.

My part is getting the ball rolling. My part is about the first few steps. My part is facilitating discovery and unearthing realization. My part is making connections. My part is providing the resources. My part is maintaining momentum. My part is innovating the next big thing. My part is giving permission to dream big dreams…and to fail. My part is advocating and encouraging and supporting.

My part is asking the tough questions – the ones you don’t always want to hear, but the ones you need to hear.

So,
What’s your part?

Seriously. You have one. What is it?
Don’t know? Think about it. Hard. Ask someone about it. Ask God about it.
Once you figure out what it is, what are you going to do about it?
It’s been entrusted to you. Steward it well.

We are all the body. WE are his plan. WE are his solution.
It’s time for you to play your part.

I’d love to hear about your part! *****
