I’ve been asked that a lot since I started working at Adventures In Missions nearly 8 months ago. Honestly, it’s not the easiest question to answer. Yesterday I was asked, “What does a normal day at work look like for you?” I don’t really have a normal day. I show up at 9 (-ish), I leave at 5 (-ish). What happens in-between really depends on the day.

I wear a few different hats.
Some days, I’m a designer. Some days, I’m a process architect. Some days, I’m a strategist. Some days, I’m a finance manager. Some days, I’m a web developer. Some days, I’m a writer. Some days, I’m a coach.
Most days, I’m a mix of all of the above.
Ultimately though, I do whatever I can to accomplish one specific goal: helping men and women around the globe achieve their dreams of changing the world, through connections, coaching, and resources.
See, I work for a new department of AIM called Kingdom Dreams. Kingdom Dreams is the brainchild and personal dream of AIM’s founder and Executive Director, Seth Barnes. Seth had a dream to see the world changed by bringing heaven to earth through the sending of a generation into the nations. This began over 20 years ago in Seth’s garage, as a small, short-term missions agency. Since then, AIM has grown and evolved into a multi-faceted organization offering a variety of programs and opportunities for students, families, youth groups. adults, and post-collegiate men and women of virtually all ages. Just this year AIM celebrated the sending of its 90,000th missionary out into the field!
Well, that’s all great – the world definitely needs short term missionaries, and we are a generation that needs to be sent. But what happens after the short-term? What happens after you get home? What’s next?
The cliché is to tell the story, show the pictures, and talk about how saddened or humbled you were by the whole experience. I’m not saying those responses aren’t appropriate, they definitely are. But I also think there’s more. I believe that short term missions has the opportunity to be a catalyst in someone’s life. To mark a moment or occasion for change. To be a launching pad into a permanently transformed life, instead of simply a temporary escape from a compromised one.
Kingdom Dreams exists to help facilitate that transition – from a life of compromise to a life of abandoned pursuit of the calling God has placed on your life. We believe that we were all made to dream – that God has placed unique passions and gifts and interests in all of us that are meant to help guide us toward the part we were made to play in bringing heaven to earth.  The problem is that we weren’t meant to do it alone. We need guidance. We need leadership. We need encouragement. We need advocates. We need a network. That’s where Kingdom Dreams comes in.
So what does that look like practically? We do a lot week-to-week, from providing online resources, to making connections, to one-on-one consultations. Recently we did something special…which I will tell you about on Thursday, so stay tuned!

In the meantime, I’d love for you to check out our website, Kingdom-Dreams.org, where you can get more info about our ministry and read about some of our amazing dreamers.

I’d also like to give you a gift – a copy of the ebook I designed and helped write! I don’t want to brag, but it’s pretty awesome. Usually, it’s reserved for our subscribers to our mailing list, but I like you, so all you have to do is click HERE. Read it, talk about it, share it, tell me what you think! Really – I want to know what you think.

Part 2 to come Thursday.
Until then,
happy dreaming.
