This week God opened my eyes in absolutely tremendous ways, ways that I never thought possible. It even started on the first day.

I walked into camp thinking I knew EVERYTHING. I thought it was going to be filled with awkward moments, gross food, dirty clothes and some worship.

Boy, was I wrong. This experience was literally life changing and its only the beginning. I met some of the most amazing people, who poured into me and loved me more than I ever thought possible. Not only that, but I genuinely experienced my Jesus in a way that I never have before. He made me aware of just how beautiful I am, and the capabilities that I have because I AM HIS CHILD.

I AM BEAUTIFUL~ I AM WHOLE~ I AM LOVED

Settling into this world just isn’t an option for me anymore.

Yes the food portions were small & I showered out of a bucket & I used port-a-potties BUT I learned how blessed I was to be able to even have food, to have clean water and to have somewhere to use the restroom. I learned how blessed I was that I had a community around me that loved God just as much as I did, people that were just as broken as I was and people who urged to seek Jesus and build up his kingdom more than anyone I’ve ever met.

As one of my squad leaders said: “You will start looking more like Carissa because you look more like Christ.”

I couldn’t of said it better myself.
