Helloooo from Botswana! I can’t believe I am in month FIVE of the World Race. I am in awe of the way God has provided for me and my team and the way his glory has been reflected in each incredible experience we’ve had and person we’ve met so far. Thank you to everyone who has supported me financially, prayerfully, and with well wishes and kind words.
Unfortunately, I did not meet my final fundraising goal at the end of April, along with several other members of my group. We’ve graciously been given a new goal to be fully funded by the end of May, and let me tell ya, we have BIG hopes for how God is going to show up in these next few weeks.
I need $880 to meet my personal goal, and collectively all 21 of us still need about $52,000.
I recently read through the book of Acts and have been so inspired by the early church. I would encourage you to give it a read – just a nice reminder of God’s intentions for his people and whether our 21st century first-world idea of church lines up with this. I’ve also learned so much these past four months about living in community and bearing each other’s burdens as one body of Christ. I loved how our squad mentor Kylee worded it in regards to Acts chapter 2:
“I can’t stop thinking about the way the first church lived amongst each other. Having all things in common. A true abundance mentality because there was no mine and hers, but between each other they were able to support all “their” needs.
And I emphasize their needs because that’s how they viewed needs. It wasn’t a mentality of “let me help you with your need,” when one person was short of something, we all rallied for “our need.”
What would it look like to be this kind of church and live amongst each other in this way? To not have one person or even 11 people short in fundraising, but to as a squad be short in fundraising? And to rally as a squad to gather our need?”
One of the things our squad is doing this month to rally around each other in this need is to pause wherever we are at 5 PM each day, for 5 minutes, to pray for funding. Within our smaller teams we are having other focused times of prayer and fasting for funding, but as a squad, we are all choosing to be united in prayer once a day regardless of the distance between us. And we are inviting you to join in with us from wherever you are in the world.
5 minutes at 5pm for $52,000 by the end of month 5.
Would you consider supporting my squad in prayer every day?
And of course, we are asking for your help financially as well. None of us could be here without financial support from friends and family back home. What a testimony of God’s miraculous provision it would be to come together and raise $52,000 in just three weeks. Do you believe He will do it? Is it something you want to be a part of?
At this moment, my biggest request is for our friends and family to join us daily at 5pm united in prayer. And if the Lord leads you to give, please trust that He has big plans for how that gift will be stewarded, as we move our way across Africa, Europe, and South America over the next seven months, loving and serving those in our path.
Thank you for supporting me and my squad! I encourage you to check out their blogs to see how God is using us as a squad, as well as who is still in need of funding: https://www.worldrace.org/?tab=participants&group=19W01UN

I have faith that God is going to blow our minds this month, so be on the look out for stories of how He is moving!!
