After 4 months in South/Central America with my squad and a bittersweet goodbye I am headed back to the States today! A couple weeks ago we raised up three incredible new squad leaders (Sierra, Sunshine, and Antonio), and Rob and I transitioned off the field. I was fortunate enough to have by mom and roommate Ashley come meet me in Costa Rica for a few extra days of travel and exploration! It was so sweet to introduce them to some of my squadmates and the people I have shared life so intimately with for the past 4 months. Man, I am infinitely proud of this squad, and I am truly going to miss them so much. To witness the progress of this group of people‘s growth and be a part of the process has been one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve ever had. Sooo many tears and heartfelt goodbyes.
The good news is I will have the opportunity to come back out on the field for a week of debrief in August AND November to continue encouraging and following up with the squad as they minister around the world! To make these two trips possible I will need to fundraise an extra $1500 for each debrief. I am so excited to get home and get plugged into my community. These past several months of leading have shaped me and taught me so much more than I could have imagined, and I am determined to take the lessons I learned home to better love, serve, and lead the people around me.
