Hey, Guys!

I left for Colombia from San Francisco on September 7th. I flew to Atlanta, Georgia as a pit stop for a few days, where we had our launch, which is basically a few more sessions getting you prepared to leave the country for nine months.

Our plan was to leave on the 11th; to leave from Atlanta, Georgia, have a layover in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and then fly to Colombia, but God and Hurricane Irma had some very different plans.

The night of the 10th, we were all gathered to worship one last time as a whole group before leaving the US for 9 months. In the middle of worship, our whole squad got called out and told to go to a separate room. We quickly said goodbye to our friends from different squads and were rushed to the room. There, we were told that we had an hour to pack all of our stuff and clean our hotel rooms and that after that hour we were getting picked up by a bus to go stay at a church. This was due to our flights to Fort Lauderdale being canceled because of Hurricane Irma.

The church, called Hebron Baptist Church in Georgia, welcomed us with open hands and were super sweet to us. The day after arriving, they gave us a tour of their campus, which was absolutely incredible. They had something for anyone that was looking to become a part of a church, at any age, or stage in life. If you are ever in Georgia, you should definitely check them out!

We stayed at the church for one day and two nights, then it was off to Colombia! We packed all of our stuff and left at 11 in the morning on September 12th. From the church, we went to a Greyhound station, but on the way to the greyhound station our bus started smoking, and it turned out that the exhaust of the bus had broken. We quickly got out of the smokey bus at the nearest gas station and waited for another bus. This bus successfully took us to the Greyhound station, and after checking in 37 bags and getting on the bus, we embarked on a 17-hour long bus ride to Washington D.C. We met a very interesting bus driver named Yvette, who had had a rough day, but she ended up liking us. After a very long bus ride, we finally made it to the greyhound station. 2 metros and another bus ride later, we finally made it to the airport at 8 AM on Wednesday, the 13th of September. Our flight left at 4:15 pm from Washington DC that day and we flew to San Salvador, El Salvador, where we had a short layover, and from there we flew to Medellin, Colombia, which is where we would be staying. We finally made it to our house that we would be staying in at 2 AM on Thursday the 17th.

Our travel journey to Medellin, Colombia has been quite the adventure, but God has blessed all of us in so many small ways as we were traveling. For example, he gave us a beautiful view on the airplane, and he gave all of us a special bond, and one day we can tell the story of our first travel day and be excited that we got to live this journey together.

Ever since we have been in Medellin, God continues to bless us through the ministry we get to do, the amazing views we get to see, and the amazing people we have gotten to meet.

Thank you all so much for joining me on this journey! I appreciate all the support you guys have given me and believe me, I wouldn’t be where I am right now, without each and every one of you!
