Here I am in Honduras ending my first week! wow! God is good!
Last Friday evening we arrived in Honduras; tired and excited! This is our first month in our ministry and we are staying together as a whole squad. Which is quite exciting to start off with! Forty something of us all! We are staying at a place called Zions Gate. Our host this month helps boys who have spent most of their lives out on the street, he takes most of them in and cares for them and teaches them discipline and how to be resposible. It has been amazing so far to see how far these young men have come. Hearing their testimonies just amazes me! It reminds me of how great our God is.
The first few days we were here we had a few days to just chill and get to know our squad more.. This past week has been our first week of ministry. Each team has been assinged to a certain ministry for a few days and then we switch accordingly. This past week my team and myself have stayed the property and have been doing manual labor in helping to prepare the property for more young people to fill with. Some of our tasks this week were tearing up concrete, leveling out the dirt, digging up rocks, moving rocks, picking up trash, making dinner, and much more! It has been such a blessing to help touch lives. I grow more excited as the next week apporaches, we will be spending the next week working in a home where young girls have babies due to rape or insest. While being there the guys on our team will be doing some yard work and painting, while us ladies play with and love the babies! I am quite excited!
It has already been such a learning experince being here! Even me myself with my God time, he is teaching me so much. I look forward to seeing what he is going to teach me!
