Well Hello Everyone! This past week has been great!  I've seen and have learned so much.  My heart has been broken for those who know nothing except for living in the dump, for the tweleve year old mothers who have had a child from their father, for those who have nothing; but yet are still thankful.

Last week we had the privilege of working with a ministry called the Heart of Christ. This ministry works with girls who have become pregnant by being raped or because of incest.  It was really hard for me to hear the girls stories from the leader of the ministry.  It broke my heart to hear what they have gone through.  The little boy above is two years old and his mother ran away this year with another little boys mother, so they live here at the home motherless.  Also both little boys were either conceived by the girls father or grand-father.  Which breaks my heart even more. Incest is a big issue in this country, so please keep these children in prayer.

Another thing that struck me hard was seeing a twelve year old mother nursing her baby.  It broke my heart. A twelve year old girl should not have to deal with this.. This young mother had been taken advantage with by her father since she was nine.. so sad.  I connected with some of the mothers while being at the home.  I painted a few of their finger nails, laughed along while they were making fun of me not being able to speak Spanish.  Although it was very sad and heartbreaking to hear these young mothers stories, it also was a blessing to see the joy they had on their faces.

Also this past Saturday we had the opportunity to go to the dump and feed the people!  Which was an overwhelming experience.  Seeing how these individuals lived was very eye-opening for me.  They live in the dump.  That's all they know, many of them have lived there they're whole lives.  Their lives consist of digging through trash and selling useful things they discover for money.  They live here… this is their home, they make homes out of plastic and whatever they can find that is durable.  It breaks my heart to see God's beautiful people living in the dump.  Although many of my squad mates had an opportunity to speak with some of these people while I was serving food, and they were saying that many of them new God and they were thankful that God was providing for them and they trust He will continue to.  Another story was a group of girls were going to pray for these two girls who lived in the dump.  These two girls decided instead to pray for the girls on my squad.  They prayed a blessing over them.. Even though they have nothing it seems, they are still very thankful and trusting God will provide.  That amazes me that these individuals have this much faith!  Please pray for God's beautiful people!
