There’s been some times over these past months, like the
time I was handing out track on city streets- (what…? Am I that Christian with
that salvation literature…?) Or when people’s response to my approach is “Are
you a Jehovah’s witness ?”  or “Do
you believe in our lady?” (reference to Mother Mary) or as I am scrubbing moss
off a patio…

that I wonder… I struggled through thinking about why… I’m
here, in all these countries, meeting, hanging out with people for a couple
weeks and then on to the next…

Maybe it sounds admirable to spend a year of my life
abandoning the comforts of life, and helping out people all around the world,
getting a little understanding of what people’s needs are around the world…

But … what is the fruit of this… sometimes I feel a little
embarrassed or useless… see it’s not always like us World Racers are completing
noble projects like building a water source for a whole village or whatever, hmmm
it’s not always like a huge humanitarian aid trip.

And my faith is provoked…  If I say I believe in God, then I
believe that He created the earth, He is a living and active God, who today performs
signs and wonders, He cares about us, He hears our cries and is ready to
deliver His people.

So this also means that nothing I could do, no humanitarian
act, even if it is providing water for a whole African village will compare to
what the Most high God will and can do…

And I bring the message of hope and the light of God to
these people I meet in all situations.
This Mighty Sovereign God came down to meet all humanity, just where
we’re at …

now Christ is in me, the hope of the nations.  In the words of one of my teammates, I
am a woman of hope and I carry this hope to all I meet -this message that God
can bind the broken hearted, and make all things new.

If we all yearn, long for something that this world does not
quench…. I can show and point people to what they are really longing for, from
the depths of their soul – this  truth can change people’s lives and change generations to
come…

Our mighty God can use our moments, (see description below)
funny moments, and even tracks too, yup He can and may use anything He chooses
to make Himself known, and to bring life.

Brother Lawrence says “Men invent means and
methods of coming at God’s love, they learn rules and set up devices to remind
them of that love, and it seems like a world of trouble to bring oneself into
the consciousness of God’s presence. Yet it might be so simple. Is it not
quicker and easier just to do our common business wholly for the love of
him?”   Bringing God’s
love to the world may be doing our
common
business (painting railings)
fully for and with God’s love…
