My experience with Ukraine was short lived; stay tuned- future
adventures in Ukraine will be postponed until mid July.   
Our team is now in Bucharest, Romania.  We’re staying at Casa Shalom, where we’ll be working with girls who have been
abused or abandoned. 

Arriving to Bucharest took 30 hours by train.  The train ride proved to be meaningful
though. 

God has been showing our team that we can expect more from
God.  One part of the bible
that speaks to this in Ephesians 3: 19 -21 it says …

 to know this love that
surpasses knowledge-that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness
of God.  Now to him who is able to
do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is
at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout
all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.

Okay so our food budget is tight, and
with this in mind, we purchased some food that would be just enough for the
train ride. Hey you know what else…I admit I sometimes find myself with a
just
enough
mindset with my journey with God instead of claiming the promises
God has for us about abundant life.  

 The green pants lady reminded
me to shake off the
just enough
mindset and expect the unimaginably bestest ever from God.  Because my faith is in a God who is
bigger than anything I can arrange and who wants the best for us, grasping on
to this truth, I surrender to the sovereign God.

Oh yah so back to the green
pants lady…  I
meet a couple great people on the train and the green pants lady is one to
write home about. This lady
comes up to me in and hands me a container of cheese and speaks in a very foreign
language… (which means that I have the liberty of imagining what her words
mean)
…  I
was surprised by her generosity and thankfully accepted the cheese. 

 3 mins later she came by
again with a loaf of bread to eat the cheese with.  By this time I was reluctant to accept her gift…
Cheese and bread, this is getting to be a
bit much and I don’t deserve her free food
.  I accept because she gently insists.  The next 15 mins were filled with
consecutive bouts of gifts of food from her!  We ended up with an abundance of food from green pants lady –
amazing!

 Now with this, I’m even more
excited to see what God has in store for the people we’ll be meeting and our
team throughout the World Race.  


ALSO enjoy some FUN FACTS from the RACE so far!

          I witnessed Jenny (team mate) getting hit by a car in Ukraine… Don’t worry,  a goliath back pack protect against such accidents.  

          We were rebuked by Ukrainian/ Romanian police twice so far (we’re such rebels for sitting on window sills and the floors of trains)

          Most of the girls on my team and I haven’t shampooed our hair for weeks  – we’ve decided to try baking soda instead (it actually works really well!)

          I was questioned by the Romanian border officials while my team mates pretended to be sleeping for their 13th hour on the train… I was interrogated about possessing marijuana, money, or problems. Hmmm what is with me and these border officials? … (another story here) Praise God I made it in the clear.  

          Brittany (another teammate) got stuck in the metro doors… while I tried to yank her in, another man wacked her back pack free from the unforgiving metro doors.  

          In three days of the race, we’ve already managed to take 1 gig of photos and videos

          We realized today that we will spend more time with these six members of our team than anyone else in our lives – and so far, there’s so much love and like 🙂 YAY for JUBILEEEE!!!  

–          Any abs muscles acquired are due to frequent fits of laughter!
