Prelude:  Sorry, I’ve gotten behind in blogging… I wrote this blog a couple weeks a go and never posted it  woops.  Better late than never.

El Salvador – our second to last country on the race!

Travel Day:
load up the truck in Jinotepe, Nicaragua to head to Managua at 3:00 am.

On the road to Managua – have a riveting conversation with
Rachelle about crime in Latin America and analyzed theories of how to prevent
drug trafickking in between prolonged blinks.  (Thank you Rachelle for your grandiose ideas and eloquent vocabulary even before sunrise in the morning.)

Then we travelled from Managua, El Savador, through
Hondurus, to San Salvedor, El Salvedor.
The bus was quite nice and the thirteen-hour trip went by fast thanks to
our Disney movie marathon and catnaps.

Before arriving at our contacts and while we were waiting to
meet up with the other team we’re working with, we were in the capital, San
Salvador – a bit of culture shock – tons of fast food places and a big
mall.

Now we’re in Santa Ana, staying with a wonderful family.  They have a big heart for us
already.

It’s beautiful here at their home…  more of a man made influence then I’ve been used to – there’s
grass, and a garden and a big stove to cook on… the family even has nice
t.v’s.  Crazy stuff.

We’re working with another team this month so there’s 12 of
us living and doing ministry together.

Looks like we’ll be involved in the Tabernacle Baptist
Church here.  It looks like we’ll
be sharing in schools where children otherwise unable to attend school are
sponsored to attend, teaching in schools, be involved in feeding people,
working with youth, evangelizing, and whatever else comes up.

Thank you so much for taking interest.

Praise the Lord.  Psalm 50:1  The Mighty One, God, the LORD, speaks and summons the earth from the rising of the sun to the place where it sets.
