I’m posing a Halloween Trick or Treat Challenge.
Most
creative Halloween costumes… Most festive Halloween party…
No no
no…. this blog is not about that….
The best Halloween
candy and orange cupcakes you’ll be eating (I’m sure Helena will making some
delicious Nigella inspired ones -mmmmmm)
or the candy apples that I would make with the carmel sauce dripping off
the big juicy red apple…. Mmmmm!
How
about…
The crisp
autumn leaves that blanket the ground and crunch beneath your feet…the pumpkins
from the farmers market… Roasted salted pumpkin seeds, crazy pumpkin carving
and stringy pumpkin guts…. Cownden family bonfires, neighborhood fireworks….Soooo
good.
Yea, yea
yea, enough with the poetic descriptions.
I’m in Africa so I won’t be partaking in any of the autumn and Halloween
sights, sounds and festivities – which is ok, as long as you all enjoy it to
the max for me please! Can someone
please please jump in a pile of leaves for me?
But
here’s what is not ok. For my new
world race family, October 31 doesn’t mean Halloween, it is a deadline for
support raising.
This
means that if my sisters and brothers support accounts’ do not have $11,000 in
them, they will actually be leaving on a jet plane to raise support from home. There are currently 14 people on my
world race squad of 46 that are lacking funds so may have to go home.
I’d like
to introduce you to my team mate Heather Horton. We need her on our team, and people we’ll be meeting in the
next 6 countries need her. She’s
my sister, we’ve slept on the same little mattress last month, and this month
our sleeping bags are right next to each other, so we pretty much spend night
and day together (haha!). We also love to sing together… did I mention she has
the voice of an angle and loves long walks on the beach….? Hahaha!
Ok the
challenge you’re all holding you’re breath for….
Halloween
you buy candy, maybe some costume stuff, some treat stuff…. I challenge you to
take at least half of what you would spend on such things, and donate it to
Heather Horton or any one of my O squad team mates.
Even a
small donation could make a huge ramifications. And Heather is a treat so this would give us our Halloween
treat! Haha.
So help a
sister out please?
