Pre-emptive:  So sorry about the multiple alerts you may have received.  Technical difficulties.  But Before reading this, I thought you may like to know what I’m listening to as i type this:  the sounds of the Kenyan sky breaking loose! a crazy rain storm that just hit! It’s delightful, and will make for some great mud puddles I’m sure.

My Experience in the Langata Village

Today I joined hands with little princes and princesses

Today I sang and laughed in the midst of rubble and ashes

Thick joy tickled our lips and oozed out to own the atmosphere

Beauty shone brighter than rubbish mounds and scars

Gaggles of giggles accompanied hearty dancing and jumping
imprinting the dusty ground

Meanwhile smoke billows from crude houses a flame

I held her in my arms as peace overcame fear

She hid in the shelter of my neck as her papa approached

Her body clenched and she pressed in, then papa carelessly
offered her as mine

My arms adorned with countless of the finest little fingers

A parade of play and staccato steps through streams of sewer

We named the streets with love

Holding on to that moment, we are there for such a time as
this

Okay so thanks for bearing with me and my descriptive way of depicting my experiences… But I will say the other night we went into the village (a more pleasant way of saying slum) to deliver clothes for the people who have lost everything in the fire and about 100 kids swarmed us!

These pictures are taken in the Langata village…  I was trying to inconspiciously snap some pics….

I love this boy!  He has a heart warming smile!  He followed me around 2 days in a row…

A local was taking us on a walk through the streets lined with the villager’s homes.  Not too far from here is where the fire was.  100 people’s homes burned down and one baby died.

Curious kids… who are these mazungos (white people)…?  Anthony, the boy upfront decided to accept Jesus and follow him minutes after this picture was taken.

                                    Great hair day!

This little girl here is so sweet!  I happily held her for about 30 mins.

Watchful mommas and life in the village.

In the Market place where church is:

Outside of the church service, a lot of lovin goin on between me and the village kids.

So much fun with the kids!
