I’m not going to sit here and tell you that going on this mission trip doesn’t scare me or make me sad.
It makes me nervous to leave.
I’m afraid to walk away from a job that I enjoy so much knowing that if I don’t raise this money that I’m out of a job.
I’m sad to leave a ball team that I’ve invested in. I love those girls.
I’m afraid to leave a job that provides money, pride, security, and affluence.
I don’t want to sell my car.
I don’t want to lose opportunities to advance in my career.
I want control over how my life turns out.
These are my comforts. [This is my flesh]

But…
I am more afraid NOT to go.
I can’t wait to leave.
I know my faith will be increased when God provides.
I hope my girls will see this as an example of stepping out in faith and will give them the courage to do the same, whatever that looks like.
I want nothing more than to rid myself of greed, false security, and pride in exchange for humility, true security, and simplicity.
If God wants me to have a car, He will give me one.
I will have SO many opportunities to advance THE KINGDOM through the Holy Sprit.
Instead, I am giving control of my life to the One who KNOWS ME, the numbers of hairs on my head, Who has plans for GOOD in store for me and His people.

What expectations do I have?
I expect my God to SHOW UP and do MIGHTY works. That can look like a million different things. I am praying for God to keep my heart open and sensitive to Him so I can be a used. I pray that I do, say, act in a manner worthy of the Gospel. That starts now. 🙂
