When you go over seas you expect to get sick. Everyone has been getting sore throats, fevers, and hot/cold chills.

Not me! Nope!

I woke up on Wednesday with pain in my left armpit. I looked at it and I had what looked like a zit. I was thinking,"Great! A freaking zit in my armpit that hurts." I tried to pop it. No such luck.

I showed it to some of my team and they suggested that it may be an ingrown hair. I could buy that for sure! Made sense to me.

Then I call Mom and Dad. Mom mentions that it might be my lymph nodes that are swollen indicating that I may have some type of infection and that I should get it checked out. Of course that phone call was coupled with slight panic in both of my parents voices and telling me to call NO MATTER what time it was as soon as I get back from the doctor.

Abby, the nurse here, came and looked at my lumps and declared they were probably boiled. Eckhem…. excuse me, what? BOILS?! How in the world do you get boils?! IN YOUR ARMPIT?!

Erin (female squad leader), Russel (our Aussie driver), Abby (Filipino nurse), and myself started our journey to the clinic.

I loved getting to spend a lot of this time with my Squad Leader, Erin. She helped make what could've been a very scary day (if lymph nodes, the worst it could be is cancer) a very FUN day! We even named my lumps!

My lumps names are the following: Gertrude aka Gerdy, Fanny, and Rick. We sang made up songs the whole way there, talked about farting (with no shame of course), and laughed until we cried.

Thank you Jesus, for laughter and joy! Thank you for giving me an attitude of thankfulness and joy. I can assure that I did not do that on my own!

The verdict on my armpit: Lymph Nodes are swollen (usually indicating some type of infection). I was given medication and sent on my merry way! I don't feel sick. My armpit just hurt. THAT IS SO FUNNY TO ME! Who has armpits hurting?! THIS GIRL!
