King David. Psalms.

The Psalms are a glimpse into the ever-so-personal diary of King David.

Me and ole Dave have way too much in common. I have not murdered with my hands, but I have murdered with my mouth. I haven't been married, but I have committed adultery. I have not served someone up to die, but I have manipulated people to death. He was a king, I am a Princess.

One stark difference between myself and King David (aside from our gender) is his trust for The Lord.

Trust  /trÉ™st/

Noun
Firm belief in the reliability, truth, ability, or strength of someone or something.

Verb
Believe in the reliability, truth, ability, or strength of.

Synonyms
noun: confidence – faith – truth – ability, or strength
verb: believe – confide – rely – credit – hope – entrust

I have found myself overwhelmed lately. Ball season is starting, I have a ton of bills to pay off, my income is about to decrease while my debt has just increased, it's getting close to TCAP time, I have to get stabbed soon (well, shots, but not to be dramatic or anything.. hey another commonality between me and David!), I need about $20,000, and I have no plan for when I return home as far as a career, lodging, money is concerned. That is honestly a small list.

Am I CONFIDENT enough to BELIEVE God when His TRUTH says that He will give me HOPE and  STRENGTH? That I can RELY on Him? That He is ABLE

I have to admit, I have not been expecting great things from my great God. I've been told that, "you only believe the parts of the Bible that you actually do."

So my dirty little secret: I haven't been believing. I haven't been trusting.

Ya'll I need your prayers. I, like David, long to know and trust God in a DEEP way. My deep is calling out to Deep (Psalm 42:7)!

My prayer today is that we will take today's ordered steps. No more, no less. Because the fact is, we keep looking at these mountains that are in front of us, and not focusing on today's path. These bills, that affair, those people, this job, that death…

"Keep your mind on the present journey, enjoying My Presence. Walk by faith, not by sight, trusting Me to open up the way before you." -Jesus Calling

Where are you at? You may be in a place of complete trust. I thank God for that! Wherever you are in your struggle to trust God, KNOW that He is trustworthy whether you feel it or not.
