"Will we risk everything-our comfort, our possessions, our safety, our security, our very lives-to make the gospel known among unreached peoples? Such rising up and such risk taking are the unavoidable, urgent results of a life that is radically abandoned to Jesus." – 'Radical' by David Platt
I cannot begin to tell you how excited I am that we are only 39 days away from departing on the biggest adventure, and hopefully a jump-start to a lifelong reckless abandononment for Christ. I have been through many emotions the past few days, from excitment, fear, joy, pain, and the overwhelming feeling of what I am beginning to take part in.
Last night I had an hour and a half Skype session with all of my teammates, and the joy and comfort from training camp, came rushing back and made me miss my new family even more. I am looking forward to being together again with the six people who are going to be my best friends, family, therapists, church small group, and life-long confidants.
I have only been planning and preparing for The World Race for about 6 months and already, God is wrecking what I thougth my life looked like and where I was going to be a year from now. If God is already working overtime in my life, can you imagine what is going to happen next year?!?
I hope you are as excited for my team and I as I am about this next year and the life God is mapping out for us all.
We may not be traveling around the world and competing for a new car and $$$ but what we are fighting for outweighs anything this world can offer someone. We are fighting for our inheritance…what God has waiting for us because we have turned out lives into His hands. We are racing to the ends of the earth so that those who are suffering and hearts are broken can know the God of love and healing.
Ready…Set…GO!
