Sitting here on a mountain top in Capetown, South Africa I am thinking about my first week and how it flew by already. As I look out over the city, I see the mountains on one side and the ocean on the other and I can’t help but be in awe of God’s creation. This country is so calm, laid back and at peace. The mountains overlook the city and give it protection as the sea brings in cool air and a wonderful sound. This month is a month I feel the Lord has called me to rest. This is not a month in which I feel called to sleep a lot but a month to rest in him. My team is doing Unsung Heroes this month which is where we are actively seeking new contacts for The World Race. We are seeking the Lord to show us people who are doing big things for the kingdom that could benefit from having a team or just having their story heard. This is a month that I can rest in knowing I do not have to strive or try my hardest or search for contacts but the Lord will provide. He has already shown his provision in providing financially why would letting his people become known be any different. I am resting in him this month. Spending time alone with him and learning new parts of who he is to me. I will rest in knowing there is no set schedule, all I have to do is seek him and he will provide contacts, meetings and people to talk with. It is such a great feeling knowing my only calling this month is obedience and action.
One way in which the Lord has already provided for us is that a few of us were in a meeting with a contact and he said, “I really don’t know that I can help you, because all I do is network” well perfect we thought thats exactly what we need. He proceeded to give us 10 other contacts that would be great for us to work with. As the conversation was coming to a close he noticed a friend in the restaurant and called him over and he proceeded to give us 3 more contacts. It has been amazing to see the Lord provide in such a way, we couldn’t even expect it. It’s only been one week in South Africa and I have already been blown away by this provision. I can’t wait to see what the next 2 weeks hold and how the Lord provides those that are unseen by the world but heroes to the kingdom.
