After 12 days in Puerto San Jose we finished painting the better part of a hotel and church, scraping out a pool and scrubbing the floor from our mess.
If there is one thing I have learned it’s to not be a messy painter or you will be taking a spoon around the house scraping up your mess.

All of our hard work paid off at the end of each day when we would take our 30 minute walk to the beach and stop to get a little ice cream treat on the way.
After some play time in the water and learning to use a blow up floaty as a surf board we were blessed to watch some beautiful sunsets over the water.

February 16th was Andrew’s 25th birthday so we took the day off of work and went into town.
We used the computers, got some ice cream and had a great lunch on the beach. I had my first whole fish (with the eyes and all) served to me on a plate and I ate it, not the eyes though.
We went for a swim in the ocean and took Andrew out for a surprise dinner in Montericco.
All in all it was a great time!

Sunday was another day for adventure, starting with an
IGUANA hunt.

The guard’s 17 year old son took us through the back of the property, through a river and into the forest to try and catch an iguana with a sling shot.
Sadly, I have to say that we were unsuccessful but it was a great experience. Plus who else can say that went iguana hunting.

Next we went into town, Andrew, Morgan, Emilie and I rented 4 wheelers on the beach.
We had fun racing back and forth and I taught Emilie how to be a skilled driver.

From a ministry stand point, I wished there was more that we could do. I know that God brought us to Abdeel to feed into Felix and for him to feed into us as well.
We may not have the chance to see the direct fruit of the ministry, but this place will change lives for years and years and it was a blessing to be there to help it get up and running.

We are off to Panajachel in the morning and are praying and asking God to provide us with ministry and a place to stay.
Its kind of a big request, asking for housing for 6 of us and all our bags, but we serve a big God and I’m excited to watch Him provide for us.
