On April 25th, we left Villa El Salvador and arrived in Cusco.
  The place was breathtaking.
Literally, the altitude was somewhere around 12,000 ft.
I think this may have added to my struggle of not being able to breath from my hospital visit the previous night.

But also, the city was lovely.
We were high in the mountains in a little town with Beautiful Cathedrals surrounding a green park.

Our time in Cusco was spent Debriefing, Resting, Exploring and the ever awaited Machu PIcchu.
We had a lovely hotel centrally located where we were able to spend much of our time resting and recuperating from being in a 3 bedroom house with 20 people.

My very own closet

Machu PIcchu
was everything I imagined that it would be.
I was amazing to see up close the large stones that fit so perfectly together to form such an incredible structure.

I was also able to hike up Wynapicchu,(meaning; younger mountain) which is the large mountain in the background of all the pictures.
It was a challenge to climb so quickly after knee surgery, but it was a beautiful feeling to stand at the top!

The following day after Machu PIcchu, we were checked out of Peru and Landed ourselves in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The first morning started off a little rough with Amanda getting robbed (check out her blog for more details…)

No worries, from then on our luck only got better.
On the way to find our contact, we asked a man for help and he bought all 6 of our train tickets.
All of us squished in the trains with all our bags and anxiously peered out the windows.
When our train stopped and we began walking, I could hardly believe that we could be so blessed to be in such a beautiful place.
It is fall here in Argentina, which is comparable to fall back in Washington.
I was so excited when I encountered my first pile of leaves that I kicked it even with my 50+ pound pack on my back.

Our time here has been lovely. We were blessed to stay in the International Bible Church and volunteer a couple days at BAICA ( Buenos Aires International Christian Academy).
Mariah, our contact, was able to send us out with a list of all the must see places.

This ship has sailed around the world 4 times!

Tomorrow morning we are flying across the ocean to South Africa.
Conveniently, our flight doesn’t follow the rule of logic and go straight across the ocean.
It will actually take us all the way to London, let us play for 12 hours and then all the back down to South Africa.
