HELLOOOOOOOOOOOO ๐
Yesterday I went tent shopping…and buying. I met the sweetest french man on earth, Christoph and had a blast learning and laughing with my dad and cousins. But it really hit that this little tiny quarters will soon be my NEW HOME for 11 months! As I was stumbling (literally) along trying to set up my home in the best possible location and weather conditions I will have just this one time, I thought about the cost it takes to serve our Lord. In Luke 14, Jesus asks his disciples and the great multitude surrounding them if they considered the cost of following him? And in that moment, the Lord reminded me that in order to follow him I must be ready and willing to give up everything, even my life. You’re probably thinking, “whoa girl, it’s just a tent. Simmer down.” But it’s far more than that. When following Christ, whether it be at home or oversees, he cautions you to count the cost. Are you willing to put Christ before your family, friends and even yourself? Are you ready to face the challenges of this world and your sinful desires and die to them on a daily basis? Are you ready and committed to finish what you started? All of these questions were running through my head not to scare me but to prepare me. And once I finished my happy dance of successfully setting up my tent, the Lord also reminded me that He would be there right along side of me. He would never leave me nor forsake me. And the safest place is in the center of His will. I’m excited to see what that will look like in the next few months ๐
p.s I know I look a little clumsy setting up that tent, but don’t fret! I will be practicing weekly ๐ Keep me in your prayers. I will need them!
