Dear Family and Friends,

I pray this letter finds you well. Since graduating with my masters of Social Work from Valdosta State University, I have since then obtained my licensure and started working with The Suzuki School. Throughout the last years I have been fortunate to travel to many different states, Jamaica, and Peru to do mission work. I’ve had many accomplishments in my life but it compares nothing to the joy that I have found in serving others who are often forgotten, pitied, and deemed hopeless.

Robins Nest Orphanage was filled with boys and girls that had no one to call mother or father but embraced my arms with joy and reminded me that God answer prayers. It was David from Warner Robins, GA who ran up to me with so much excitement because he got saved after sharing the Gospel with him and was thrilled in knowing he was going back to India to share Jesus with his friend. It was the kids from Thomasville, GA and Lugoff, SC that reminded me of the child like faith I needed to have in this walk of faith. It was in Greenville and Anderson, SC where I found 5th and 6th graders who were so passionate about having a relationship with God and desired to understand the Bible. And it was in Peru where met Rueben who was once stuck in the streets forced to sell his body but escaped to find hope in having a relationship with Jesus Christ. These memories were only a glimpse of a journey that has shaped and changed my life. I want that life-changing journey to continue.

August 2016 I will be joining The World Race on an 11-month mission trip to South America. The World Race is an 11-month Christian mission trip to different countries around the world. One of the unique things about the World Race is that it’s not only a mission trip but also an intensive discipleship program designed to launch my generation into our specific kingdom calling. Through the World Race, my team and I will serve in partnership with churches and ministries in local communities to preach the Gospel, plant churches, work in orphanages, minister to women and children trapped in prostitution as a result of human trafficking, and bring the restorative hope of the Father’s love to many tribes and nations. My specific route will take me to Columbia, Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname, French Guiana, Brazil, Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia, Paraguay, Chile, Argentina, and Uruguay.

Partaking in this next journey is not just my passion but also my dream. This dream of mine is not wrapped with a salary, vacation time, and company benefits. A dream is not a dream if you can do it without God. This dream that I am embarking upon requires God and the help of you. As I prepare for my departure one of my greatest challenges is my financial support. Like other missions organizations, World Race participants are required to fundraise financial support. In order to leave fully funded by August 2016, I need to raise $17,561. This money will cover all of my field expenses for the 11 months of the trip.  If 49 people pledge $45 a month for 8 months (or a one time donation of $360), I would have 100% of the funds necessary for my trip. As I take this large step of faith in trusting the Lord, would you prayerfully consider joining me financially through a monthly donation or some other amount?

I thank God for an opportunity such as this. I know that wherever there is purpose God has already made the provision. Many of you have large spheres of influence; please pass this letter on to your friends, your family, your church, and your colleagues so that they may also be blessed with the opportunity to join the race.

I pray that as you join this journey with me you would see the heart of God for his people and that you may be encouraged in the faith. I sincerely thank you for any donation amount and every prayer. I would love for you to remain on this journey with me by following my blog at www.candacemyrick.worldrace.org. There you will receive all updates, photos, and personal blogs throughout the journey. “Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.

This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of the Lord’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God.  Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, others will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else. And in their prayers for you their hearts will go out to you, because of the surpassing grace God has given you. Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!”
