In two short weeks Sweet Heat was able to see the heart of Guyana. This month was all about ATL. What is that? Ask. The. Lord. Upon entering Georgetown we had no contact. We didn’t know anyone. We had no place to stay. We were traveling by faith and asking the Lord to lead us where He desired. Indeed he did. A few of our squad mates arrived early into Guyana and established contact with a ministry that housed 31 of us. Praise God! Our squad of 31 eventually separated after receiving our Brazil visas and Sweet Heat was left in Georgetown, Guyana to figure the rest out on our own.
The only way we knew how to find out what the Lord had for us was through prayer. And there the journey began.
We decided to go to a coffee shop to do a bible study.
As we were headed to sit in a back room we notice a woman staring at us as if she saw a ghost. She immediately stood up and asked one of my team mates was she Canadian.
Jessica soon found out that we were not Canadian but missionaries in Guyana. Her eyes lit up and she begins to tell us how we needed to see the heart of Guyana and visit the interior of Guyana where Amer-Indian tribes resided. She was adamant about us going but we needed to raise $110 dollars each to go. It was clear God wanted us to go because we were able to raise that money by the lovely help of one of our team mates parents in less than 24 hours. We were and still are grateful for that.
Here is a video of our journey with our time in Wakapoa and a glimpse of what we got to experience. https://youtu.be/pq8IGW-7W-Y
We asked the Lord and He directed our every step. The beauty in unknowing is that we have the opportunity to watch God’s orchestrated plans unfold before our eyes. The beauty in asking the Lord is that we don’t rely on ourselves to figure everything out. We communicate with a God that already knows the who, what, when, and how. All we have to do is ask Him. Allow God to cast the vision of your day every morning and take Him with you wherever you go. Who knows what will happen the next time you go to the coffee shop, the next time you go to the grocery store, or when you’re at work. Ask the Lord and He will show you.
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.”
