So, I am huge a Rush Hour fan.. like it’s kinda crazy.

And now that I’m in Asia, it’s even worse.

There is this little boy who looks like Jackie Chan,

so that just adds to my insanity.

They have us teaching.

I teach games, sports, & songs on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday.

Pretty much includes lots of musical chairs and duck duck goose.

Sometimes we do relay races and sing songs.

I am kinda running out of ideas so if you have some, feel free to share!

Also, on Wednesday, I teach Bible class.

Not too bad since I have a translator and the little ones we just teach a song to.

Last week, I did Noah and this week I did Jesus feeding the 5,000 and the prodigal son.

On Thursdays, I teach English.

Talk about my worst Nightmare.. Seriously.

I feel like I’m in the scene where Jackie gets off the plane

and Chris Tucker says “Do you understand the words that are coming out of my mouth?!”

In the movie, Jackie can actually speak english,

he is just screwing with Chris Tucker. Love it!

Anyways, I didn’t pay any attention in english class growing up.

Its kinda terrible.

My spelling and grammar aren’t the best

so, I knew that I would need some crazy Holy Spirt power

to get through the two days that I would teach English.

So, I walk into class and just start rambling on.

Of course, forgetting they know very little english.

One little boy starts saying something to me

and then, without even thinking out of habit from saying it so many times

and just being the silly person that I am I looked at this little boy

and seriously, without hesitation, I said.. “do you understand the words that are coming out of my mouth?!”

His response was “I speak little english.”

We both lost it and broke out into this laughter that set the whole class in an uproar of laughter.

The class ended up going great.

We learned all about colors and directions.

Thank you Jackie Chan for making my day and my classroom a better place!

Much love!

Candace.
