In a few short days I will be leaving the country of Nepal. These past few weeks have been an amazing start to the World Race and the one thing I am walking away with from this month has been the beauty of God’s creation. The views every morning of waking up to the Himalayan foothills and seeing the clouds rise and fall with the morning and evening has never gotten old and I don’t know if it ever could. Seeing the peaks of the snow capped white mountains has been breathtaking and the lavish green hillsides make me stand in awe of the God we serve–that He took the time to create such beautiful things for us to enjoy on this earth.
Aside from the beauty of His creation through landscape I’ve seen the beauty of his creation through the Nepali people. These people are so kind and genuine. They always are smiling and the love they show for one another is incredible. They truly live out the community that Christ intended for us to have with one another. They live with an amazing passion for God and it has been incredible to see and experience the fire they have for our Savior.
It will be bittersweet leaving these people and the beautiful views that remind me daily of the God we serve who loves us so much that He is willing to give us little things in life to enjoy–like the smile on the Nepali children’s face when they shout Nameste to the group of Americans walking by or the sweet way the Nepali women nod their head back and forth when you ask if you can give them a hug or to see these people worship our Savior so blatantly without any care of how they look or sound. These are the things I will miss and I hope to always remember about the beautiful people and the beautiful country of Nepal.
Thank you all for your continued support and prayers!! It has truly been a blessing to serve with these people for month 1.
