It’s crazy for me to think that I am actually in Chiang Mai, Thailand as a world racer. It was 40 plus hours of travel with layovers in New York City, Shanghai, and Bangkok, but we finally made it! For my first month of ministry my team and I will be working with the women’s ministry in the local area. The leaders of this ministry are alumni world racers and have been very patient with us as we all get used to this new transition in our lives. So far our days have been filled with us painting the women’s rooms in the safe house that a couple of women are staying in. On Thursday nights my team and I are privileged to participate in prayer walks through the red l!ght district. During these prayer walks we will cover the bar girls and lady boys in prayer asking God for healing, restoration, and freedom in their lives.
Things I’ve Done So Far In Thailand
- went to a night market and spent too much money
- visited a monk monastery
- rode in a songthaew
- started ministry
- learned how to say hello in Thai
- watched 4 people get tattoos
- almost GOT a tattoo
- ate too much Thai food
- had iced coffee (Thai style)
- almost got hit by a car (a daily thing) (they’re crazy drivers and I never know when to cross the street)
Life here in Thailand is definitely different than life at home. Being 11 hours ahead of Georgia, it’s weird to call your family and be in tomorrow already. But as you can tell from the list above, there are some things that can only be experienced in Thailand. This is my life right now. God is good. Life is crazy. Thanks God, thanks Chiang Mai.
Til’ next blog,
Peace out from Thailand 😛
