Worship. One of the few ways where we get to be so vulnerable and real with God. Worship is crazy. For me personally singing in front of people freaks me out. It’s st something i don’t do. I’ll sing in front of my family and I”ll sing along to the radio in the car, but singing where I’m actually trying? Singing in front of people? nope. Won’t do it. Worship is kid of like that for me. It’s where I can be like “Ok God, I don’t sing in front of people I don’t do that. I don’t like to, but for you I’ll do it cause you’re worth it.”
I mean we all know that God knows everything, sees everything, is everywhere, so it really shouldn’t be that big of a deal that we sing for Him. I mean He’s heard us sing before right? But I think that when we sing to someone and sing for someone that’s how worship is different than just singing in the car. Worship can be in other ways than just singing. Worship can be dance or just kneeling before Jesus. I think that there’s something about us as humans letting our guard down and being vulnerable that makes worship so beautiful. It’s us recognizing that He is so much bigger than us and He is worthy of our praise. And also us knowing that we can’t give Him really anything else. We know who He is. He’s the creator of the universe. He made everything, knows everything, has everything, yet all He wants is for us to stop for a second, and recognize who He is and praise Him for it.
Worship is literally defined as the feeling or expression of reverence and adoration for a deity. We worship because we adore Him. We worship because He is worthy of our worship. We worship because that is a gift from Him where we can come into His presence unafraid of being judged, unashamed of whatever we’ve done, knowing that we’re loved unconditionally and all He wants if for us to be there with Him.
God is worth anything we can give Him and so much more than that. We can’t ever repay him for what He’s done for us. He gave everything so we praise Him. He is worth being sung to, He’s worth dancing for. Yeah, it may be out of our comfort zones, but He’s worth it. We may feel vulnerable and uncomfortable and like everyone is watching us (they’re not by the way), but He’s worth all of that. We love Him because He loves us. We worship Him cause He is worthy of our worship. And plus, worship can be fun! There’s freedom in worship. Freedom in not caring and just singing and dancing and praising the one who gave everything for you. Worship is a gift given to us. It’s joy. It’s a chance to get up close and personal with God and sit at His feet.
Peace out till next time!
