Growing up my best friend and I loved cars! We raced our Hot Wheels down hills at recess, customize our favorite cars in our video games and constantly talked about them. I thought for sure that I would do something in the automotive world when I grew up. I did work at McDonough Auto Service through high school and during college. While I loved getting to learn the ins and outs of vehicles I knew that was not what I wanted to do with my life.

Like I have mentioned before, in January 2013 I learned what I was meant to do. Youth ministry! Totally not what I expected! After a few years of volunteering in this ministry I have discovered my passion.

This is during VBS at my church in Waco Texas. The two older students are apart of the youth group while the other little ones are from our children ministry. I know I said YOUTH ministry, but I also enjoy children ministry as well.

This is a few of us from the group! There are much more pictures that I could post, but I don’t have them.

I have made incredible relationships with the students you see above as well as the ones that aren’t in the picture. I have been through a lot with the kids and have loved every second of it. There have been many frustrating times with the kids, but all of those challenging times fade away when I get to see the Holy Spirit move through the students. There is nothing more satisfying than seeing your students accept the Lord for the first time or even rededicate their lives to God. I have discovered that I live for those moments! My heart and soul is filled with joy when I get to see these moments happen. I want to continue to pursue youth ministry and help kids have these moments and teach them more about our Lord and Savior and how to live with him in their lives every day.

I believe that the World Race is how God is leading me to continued success in Youth Ministry. I can’t wait to see what our Creator has in store for me and my future students!
