Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth!

Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing!

Know that the Lord, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name!

For the Lord is good, his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.

Psalm 100:1-5

Do you desire to know why you are on earth? Lean in close. I’ve found the answer!

We were made for love. We were made for loving the Lord our God- that is our sole purpose on this earth. Now, go along with me for a second. The other night as I was rereading Divine Romance by Gene Edwards (I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!) I started asking myself: Why was I created? Why on earth am I here? What is my purpose on this earth? Why do I pray? Why do I read my Bible?

Here is what I realized; I was made for loving my God and my creator. As humans we try to seek the best jobs, the best looking house, the best mate, the healthiest body, the prettiest pictures- we try to make our lives have a purpose. If you aren’t careful you may lose sight of what your purpose actually is. You see, God knew us before we were even formed in our mother’s wombs. He created us, fashioned us, and knew our every being before we were even born. He looks at us with loving adoring eyes- HE EVEN SINGS PRAISES OVER US (Zeph 3:17)! We were then born into a fallen world and our purpose is to find our way back to Him, repent of our sins, believe He loved us so much that He sent His son to die for us that the veil would be torn and we could again commune in His presence, and LOVE Him.

It’s that simple. We were meant to love.

We can search high and low and strive for trying to find our purpose but until we realize that we are nothing, our lives mean nothing, and whatever happens on this earth is miniscule to Heaven then we will be at a loss. Nothing in this world will ever satisfy. It doesn’t matter who you marry, it doesn’t matter what job you have, it doesn’t matter what you do all that matters is that you LOVE God. Just love him. That’s all He wants you to do. And then you will see that you have freedom, you have a freedom to live the life you desire because He wants to bless you. All those things you think are your purpose are actually blessings and your purpose is actually to love Him who created you.

So as I was answering my questions I realized: I am here to love God. Period. I read my Bible to know more about Him. I pray because I know He is there and wants to spend time with me. If my purpose here on earth is to love the Lord my God with all my heart, mind, body, and soul then you best believe I am going every day to spend time with Him- learning about Him, listening to Him, and trying to be as close to Him on this earth as I can so when I get to Heaven I know it’s going to be even more sweet.

So what on earth do you think you’re here for? Are you living life like you were here to love God?

With all my love- Cam
