I was a Journal Junky for a long time. Kind of like Nickelodeon’s “Doug”. I took a look back through my journal recently to see where I’ve come from and found some encouragement. Here it is:
“You… are a shadow of the person you were meant to be.
You… have nothing close to the Life you were meant to have.
AND
You have no real chance of becoming that person or finding that life.
However, you are forgiven. For the rest of your days you will fail in your attempts to become what God wants you to be. You should seek forgiveness and try again.
Eventually shame and disappointment will cloud your understanding of yourself and your God.
When this Ongoing Hell is over, you will die, and you will be taken before your God for a full account of how you didn’t measure up… but you will be forgiven.
After that, you’ll be asked to take your’ place in the Choir of Heaven. This is what Salvation is.
The good news, is that is not Christianity. Could you imagine getting a letter like that? “Humph, go get em’ kid!”
All of this is true, but there’s more to it, and I wish people could see beyond the veil that we’ve worn since our’ earthly birth.”
-John Eldridge
I have strayed away from God to be sure. I am a failed Christian in my eyes. Looking back, I have a strong voice because of the intense relationship I had with God. I Let Go of God and took ahold of my life with full force and came crashing down again and again. One thing after another; each time, the drama and serious situations getting worse and worse.
Here are a few things that we, as followers of Christ should recognize:
Starting with this: Romans 3:23 “For ALL have sinned ad fallen short to the glory of God.”
– If you are a follower of Christ, you should have genuine things that point towards him.
-Dumb stuff WITH compromising involved results in a separation between you and everyone you meet… and God.
-It is my’ sin that put Jesus on the Cross, and I believe that Jesus was thinking about me on that cross.
-Our’ Existence is made for something better.
*What is the one thing that’s keeping you right in-between The World and God?
A long time ago, when I was trying to avoid responsibility, God revealed these words to me by saying “When an opportunity for sin arises, I offer an unequivocal investment in Me.”-God
I hope you still believe in God.
“When Life becomes unbearably difficult, faith in faith will never see us through our difficult times. Life takes a faith that recognizes the character of God, rests in a trust in God and revels in the hope of God. We should not settle for anything less.”-(Woodrow Kroll)
