This is it. The awakening days. The days when I should be laughing, crying, and relishing in the last moments I have with friends, family, and the comforts of American life. In one week I will head down to Georgia, meet the rest of my teammates, and spend time in worship and training together before beginning this great adventure! But instead of being nervous, anxious, excited, etc., the only word I can find to describe my feelings on the whole endeavor is “ready”. I’ve changed my whole life for the World Race. I moved out of New York and moved back home, with no car and no idea of where the Lord would take me. I changed AGAIN when I switched from the June team to the September team. Got a job at a place I swore I’d never go back to. Got involved with a group of amazing, Spirit-filled girls who invited me to their Bible study and into their hearts. Got involved with a wonderful new church family. All unexpected, all the exact preparation the Lord knew I needed before I got out into the world. Though I am uncertain of so much that is to come and the lessons and struggles God has in store for me, I know this is where God has led me, I am just ready and waiting. “Here I am Lord. Send me.”
After a week of training in Georgia, our team of 29 will head to Bangkok, Thailand, to begin our first leg of ministry. Our proposed itinerary is as follows:
