Weird title, I know. But it got you to look didn’t it? Bear with me as I try to tell this crazy awesome story.

I moved into an apartment in Bowling Green Ohio with my best friend in August (I am now moving home to focus on preparing for the World Race, but that isn’t really relevant). This apartment we moved into was fully furnished, including a washer/ dryer, dish washer, and a microwave. That darn microwave. I cannot even begin to tell you how frustrated that one small appliance made us. It would spontaneously turn off all the time, and there wasn’t anything we could do about it. We tried unplugging it and plugging it back in, pressing REALLY hard on the door, closing it one hundred different ways, we even put in a work order with our landlord. They never got around to replacing it.

Now taking this a different direction for just a minute, I LOVE Todd White. My friends are going to laugh reading this because they know its true. He is a wonderful man of God and his sermons are absolutely refreshing to me. I discovered him a few years ago when I discovered Wanderlust Films (Father of Lights, Holy Ghost, etc.). It was around the time that I was really starting to understand the power of prayer. Todd White prays for everyone all the time, look him up on YouTube, the dude is wild. He inspired me to be more open with my passion for Christ, which ultimately led to me praying a lot more, and praying for random people a lot more. I think I freaked some of them out but it was totally worth it. That being said, I completely 100% believe in God’s healing power for everything.

Back to the Microwave portion of the story. About a month ago I came home from a very long day of work. I hadn’t eaten yet and I had to be somewhere else in an hour. That small window of time was the only opportunity I would have to eat until late that night. I decided I wanted soup, so naturally I pour my soup into a bowl and stick it in the microwave. Guess what, it shut off. I was so mad, I kept hitting the 1 minute button for at least 10 minutes and it would not work. I decided enough was enough. I started praying over that dang microwave. I would pray and then try it out. When it didn’t work I just prayed again. Finally after probably twenty five minutes of asking Jesus to just fix it and commanding the microwave to work in Jesus’ name, it turned on. I literally did not believe it. I thought it was a fluke (ye of little faith am I right?). I started microwaving other things just to make sure, and it was really working. I ran out my front door and busted into my friends apartment yelling  “JESUS FIXED MY MICROWAVE!” For obvious reasons I was ecstatic. God, the God of Abraham, the God of the bible, fixed my stupid microwave.

If you remain in Me and My words remain in you, ask whatever you want and it will be done for you. John 15:7″. That whole situation made this verse much more tangible to me. I know this is kind of a goofy story, but how good is God? He cares about the little things, and He gives such good gifts, even when we doubt Him.

If I can be honest here (which I can because it’s my blog), I have been in a bit of a low spot lately. Worrying about money and fundraising, not knowing if I will even get to go on the World Race, and feeling completely unmotivated to do anything (doubting, basically, and then feeling sorry for myself). But God is such a good God! It is not just a fluke that my microwave started working again. It is not a fluke that I am going on the World Race.

Jehovah-jireh, God will provide. He will provide the funds, He will provide the peace, and He will provide the healing. I am so excited to be able to travel this beautiful earth, with wonderful people who share a passion for Christ. I am so excited to meet God’s beautiful children around the world and get to share God’s healing touch with them, and I am so excited to walk in the good works and the path the Lord has prepared for me.

He has saved us and called us
with a holy calling,
not according to our works,
but according to His own purpose and grace,
which was given to us in Christ Jesus
before time began

2 Timothy 1:9 (HCSB)
