Hello friends! Thanks for checking out my page!

As I am sure you already know, my name is Callie Rose Nicholson and I am participating in the World Race Gap Year Program! I will be traveling to Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Botswana, South Africa, and the Philippines.

So to share with you a little about myself, I have always had a heart for anything international, especially ministry. My mom grew up in Papua New Guinea as a missionary kid. So I have grown up with that global influence, and because of that, international ministry is something I have always wanted to be a part of (And now I am!).

I love to love people, I believe that it is the most powerful and effective tool in ministry. I have had such a passion for people since I was young, and I have only ever wanted to share Jesus with people and love them well, whatever that would mean.

I have been fortunate enough to be a part of several different ministries in the U.S. and over seas, and my passion for it has not stopped growing. So, in the beginning of this school year, I applied for the World Race. It seems like a big jump, I know, but I completely believe and trust that this is right, that God’s timing is perfect and He knows what He is doing. Also, I am a very hands on person, and I need to experience something to make a decision about it, especially if it is going to be a lifelong thing.

I currently am in my second year at Bowling Green Sate University studying Sociology. However, I am planning on transferring to a bible college to pursue a degree in International Ministry when I return from the race. I think that the race will prepare me in a lot of ways to get a degree in ministry and get ready to make a career out of it. I could honestly not see myself doing anything else.

Some fun things about me are that I love music! I play guitar, piano, and I sing, more than I play any instrument actually. I have had the opportunity to lead worship in the past two years that I have been in college which is such an honor and so cool! Some basic stuff, I like to cook, because food is good, but also I like to cook for people in general. I also love all art. I paint, draw, throw pottery, anything where I can use my hands and be creative. I am not much of a journal-er (I know that is not a real word), so I use art as an outlet instead. I also played lacrosse for ten years and it is my favorite out of all of the sports I have ever played, hence why I played for so long and it is the only one I am mentioning.

Thanks for taking the time to read this! Again, as I mentioned before, I am not much of a journal-er, and I am not much of a blogger either, really I just don’t think I am a writer, but I hope you have learned about my heart for this endeavor and learned a little more about me!

May you be blessed as you are a blessing!

Callie
