“The man on the top of the mountain didn’t fall there.” These are the words from my fortune cookie that I received after my family and I were overly full from eating at a Chinese buffet. God gave this birthday message to me as a reminder; from this He made me feel relieved, comforted, even more motivated. I have raised $2,423.02 in the last year due to fundraising and donations. I am a full-time undergraduate student at the University of Wisconsin – Stout, I have a part-time job, I volunteer at Conversation Hour once a week, et cetera. Yes, I have many responsibilities like many others, but I cannot deny that it makes it difficult to fund raise for my World Race. I have made a Funding Thermometer to provide a fun and helpful visual to you all. Check below to see how much I have raised and how much more I need. Thank you for all for those who have volunteered to help me in my fundraising, shown their support, financially donated, and for those who have prayed for me and my World Race!
Like I mentioned earlier, “The man on the top of the mountain didn’t fall there” and it has not been easy Fund raising for my World Race. It has pushed my boundaries many times and still does. The blessing from this disguise is that God is showing me patience is a virtue, perseverance is crucial, good planning skills, the ups and downs of fund raising, how to work even HARDER, how to ask for help, how to work as a team, my confidence and ability to fund raise, that He wants to prepare me more before launch, and my ever so fast growing PASSION for the World Race with this time.
The man on top of the mountain did not fall there, I did not fall on the top of the mountain. I have to work extremely hard to make it to the World Race. I am okay with that because God is teaching me so many life lessons and amazing things. His plans and timings are better than my own!
I would like to conclude this with God’s words, “And the Lord will guide you continually and satisfy your desires in scorched places and make your bones strong; and you shall be like a watered garden, like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail” – Isaiah 58:11.
