YES I am. I am assuming that my entire family and some of my friends think that this World Race journey is just another one of Callie's "why not life is too short" travel decisions, but this new adventure is so much more than that. It is unbelievably meaningful, life changing infact.
“BE WHO GOD MEANT YOU TO BE AND YOU WILL SET THE WORLD ON FIRE.” – St. Catherine of Siena
During high school and more so during college, I have intently thought about what I want to do with my life. I went to college to become a Graphic Designer. I had done art my entire life. When I was in kindergarden, I did art. When I was in elementary school, I did art. When I was in middle school, I did art. When I was in high school, I did Advance Placement art. I took art seriously if you hadn't noticed! All of a sudden my sophomore year of college, first semester, God told me that my passion for art is enough. At UW-Stout, they have a program called ASPIRE. ASPIRE usually plans a day to go to Feed My Starving (FMSC) once a semester. I had gone to FMSC with ASPIRE and I feel in love with this idea. I realized that I am blessed with the life I have and that so, so, so many children, women, and men suffer in this broken world of ours. Someone, anyone, YOU, should do something to put a bandage on this vast wound. Intead of pursuing my Graphic Design career, sitting and stairing at a computer all day, My heartbeat is to see a changed world – I want to actively rise to the challenge of seeing the world transformed through tangible expressions of God's love. This IS who God meant me to be and I WILL set the journey of the World Race on fire!
