This month we have met some lovely people and I would love to share some of those people with you and their stories!

Mee and Kaew
Mee is the owner of a local Thai coffee shop down the street from the hostel we stayed at this month! And Kaew is Mee’s mom. I would often visit their shop and get a Thai tea or latte. I loved going there because they always were so friendly, greeted me with a smile, and started conversation. Mee also has a coffee farm, a factory where she makes freeze dried foods, and exports foods and cars, a lot of times to Africa! She is SO cool and smart! Hoping to do business with her one day 😉

Mee gave me freeze dried Thai food, so that when I left Thailand I could still have some yummy food to eat!!

Palek
During our lunch break at hope home we would walk to Palek’s drink stand and she would make us latte’s and Thai tea. She loved us so well in such a short amount of time. She would always greet us with so much joy and with a hug. She was genuinely so excited to see us everyday. She is one of those people, you just want to sit down with, share a cup of coffee with and talk. While we would sit and enjoy our 15 BOT (about $0.50) lattes, she would often bring us free fruit or treats to try. She is a beautiful person, filled with love and joy! I am so glad we had the chance to meet her.

Tong
Tong was our food guy. During our lunch breaks we would go to Tong’s place to get some pad Thai or Kow Soy Soup. He expected us everyday and when we did not show one day he asked where we where. Tong did not speak a lot of English, but we would not have survived without his bomb food!

Petra
Man oh man Petra…We only knew Petra for about a week, but man did she make an impact. She was volunteering at Hope Home from England and the day we got there she asked us to share with her how we met Jesus and what our biggest dream was. Everyday after she would ask us another question. Like who do you relate to better, Esther or Ruth and how will you effect generations to come like they did. Petra impacted us all in huge ways and reminded us that you can make huge impacts in the lives of others in simply a day’s worth of time.

Hope
Man, Hope. Where do I start? Man this girl is a firecracker. She lights up wherever she goes. She loves so fiercely. She cares so deeply. She befriends anyone within two seconds of meeting her. She showed me what it means to love and what it means to rest in God’s love. She also showed me how God fights for the one. She is so loved by her Father and she knows it. The love of Jesus that she has felt, gives her life and meaning everyday.  Hope had worked in the sex-trade industry, until she met a group of world racers one day at the bar, who asked her to go to church with them. She loves people and foreigners so much, that she agreed to go just to hangout with them. She continued to go to church, but was not interested in God, until she met Jesus and He changed her life. Once she had Jesus, her whole life changed. She quit working in the bars and started working at the café in the Hostel. She now is full of so much joy and tells every person she meets how Jesus has changed her life. She often starts to cry when sharing how Jesus loves her so much and how she loves Jesus and how she would not be where she is without Him! Man, her story is so powerful and it has truly reminded me of how God pursues us and loves us so deeply.

I am so blessed to have met all of these people! It is through simple interactions and relationships like these that I truly feel the love of God.
