Hello, I am Calla Rae! I was born and raised in the small town of Cedar Springs, MI. I am 21 years old. Before heading out on the race, I was working full-time at Hope Network Neuro Rehabilitation. While working in neuro rehab, I had the privilege to see modern day miracles in the healing process of my residents.
I use to say my relationship with the Lord started when I was 14 (almost 15) years old, when I was trying to overcome one of toughest things I have ever endured. It was a time in my life where I felt so hopeless. So unworthy. I was mad at God, yet knew I needed His love to flood my heart more than anything. I knew without a doubt that there was more to life than what I was feeling. I met God at training camp. The one true God that is bigger than what the American church allows Him to be. It was in those eleven days that I realized I never wanted to live this life again, without my Father. I am in constant amazement, the more I seek to understand my Creator.
I have a passion for writing, drawing, and reading. I love to sing (although my peers might not enjoy listening to me sing). I am learning how to play the ukulele. I am a leader. Women bible studies, or women’s ministry is heavy on my heart, as well homeless men and women.
Thank you for taking the time to read a little bit about me.
Calla Rae
