Hi all,

First of all, I want to say a huge THANK YOU to all who partnered with me in this next year of life. Fundraising this trip was challenging, and a rollercoaster. But it was also so incredibly cool to sit back and watch God just provide. I went from not being 100% sure if I could even launch out, to being fully funded before walking into registration for launch. We serve a big God. And my prayer for all of you, is that your eyes are opened to that.

At launch, as you know I had to complete the fitness hike, again. It’s a 2.2 mile hike, in less that 38 minutes. In my blog about training camp I shared some of my heart behind it and what the outcome of failing it looked like after returning home. Well, I completed that fitness hike in 29 minutes, cutting a total of 9 minutes from my original time. I have also kept 11 pounds off since training camp.

I am in Johannesburg, South Africa with Impact Africa. For the next month ministry will vary. Impact Africa has several different ministries that they have started. They have Impact Baby Rescue, Impact Kids, Impact Students, as well as provide mission opportunities. On Friday we were able to tag along to experience what one day of Impact Kids looks like. We piled in the vans, grabbed a speaker and went out to deep sloue. We sang and danced with kids, went over their memory verse that they have been working one, taught them a bible lesson, played a game, and gave out “sweeties”.

More nights than not, my team and I sit down together for what we call Team Time. Miss Khurry is our team leader, and she is doing an incredible job with this role. We discuss highs and lows. We have decided to do bible studies together, Romans is the first book we will tackle together. We also are challenging ourselves to memorize bible verses together. Our first verse we are memorizing together is Psalms 3:3, chosen by our lovely Autum. Another thing we have shared with each other is some of our personal goals for the year so that we can try and keep each other accountable.

I feel that sharing my personal goals with all of you is just as important. You are apart of my team as well, and will be able to also keep me accountable. So here are some of them,

-Selflessness

-My facial expressions, especially if I disagree with something.

-Self confidence, I need to remind myself often that I am competent of doing all that God calls me to do. And just competent enough in everything that I do.

-Prayer. All the time, even if it annoys my team.

-Personal time with God, being more intentional with this time

-Memorize at least 60 bible verses throughout the year

-Blog at least once a week

My list of goals throughout the year is pretty lengthy, if you would like the whole thing, feel free to email me. Or if you have questions about any of these ones, also feel free to email me.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. I am so excited for this journey to begin.

THINGS YOU CAN PRAY FOR:

  1. You can pray that the “yes” in my spirit stays strong.
  2. You can pray for my team, that we don’t lose our fire.
  3. You can pray that the rest of my team gets fully funded
  4. You can pray for the ministry that we will be doing here at Impact Africa.
  5. You can pray that we are a blessing to Impact Africa while we are here and that if they need help with anything, that they ask.
