So, at long last, I am here in Ireland. I have many emotions and feelings and its hard to say which one is winning out. There is an element of complete fear, complete anticipation, complete excitement, and complete confusion, while at the same time so very very tired, after having slept 3 hours last night on the plane adjusting to the new time zone. The flight was real smooth, side note: got to watch Star Trek and it was fantastic. Ireland is interesting to say the least. Its kind of a lot to take in when thinking about being gone for 11 months, but we got to see A LOT of Dublin today by doing a scavenger hunt around the town for its more famous of landmarks. The weather thus far has been FANTASTIC! It was a little soggy today, but its been about 65 the whole time we’ve been here and I can say with certainty I do not miss the Texas heat even a little bit. Its starting to set in that I will in fact be gone for quite some time. We are doing a 48 hour computer and ipod fast so I will not be in touch for a few days, but I am in fact safe in the foreign country of Ireland. I am yet to have a guiness but it is fairly near the top of my to do list in Ireland. Game plan from here is training and meetings for a couple days. Then off to Galway Ireland where we will be working with a couple of churches in the area to help with a number of things. Will write when I know more. Tis all for now.
P.S. Am working on my Irish accent, not going so well.
