If I was to sum up the last 4 months in one word it would have to be growth. At training camp, after our leaders spent a lot of time in prayer and seeking the Lord I was selected as a team leader. Little did I know how much this role would change me. Being a leader has brought so much growth into my life that I can carry with me for the rest of my life. I learned and realized so many different things.
- How to rely on God in new ways
- I can’t lead out of my own power
- How to be selfless
- Love with all that I am
- How to lead with assertiveness
- Showing grace is key
- People pleasing isn’t healthy
- How to continually have a heart of service
- The importance of submitting to God each day
- How to lead by example
- Communicating the hard stuff is important
If it weren’t for my teammates and the way that they pushed me I don’t think I would have grown as much as I did. I received feedback that was helpful and I was challenged in the most beautiful ways. These last 4 months drew me into a deeper intimacy and dependency on the Lord. There were some very low lows but also some very high highs. As I move on from this position I am thankful to God for all the things He taught me. I am thankful for the ways I was able to grow and love my team.
I have been given a new role called “Beauty for Ashes Leader.” For those of you who don’t know what Beauty for Ashes is, it’s the women’s ministry of adventures in missions. I will share in a separate blog more about the role and specifics on what that entails. I am excited for this new position and to see how the Lord continues to use me in this new leadership role.
Love you all and am thankful for your continued prayers!
